Natural Cancer Protection

Scientists are discovering what has been around us all along - natural food that helps protect your body from cancer and carcinogens that are always around us. Yes, breast cancer rates have been declining by 2% each year but you still need to be defensive.
Just sipping 24 oz. of milk - white, chocolate, fat free or low fat - can cut your cancer risk by 44% according to Finish research. Milk's blend of calcium and other compounds helps healthy cells divide properly, avoiding the genetic problems that lead to pre-cancers. Green tea and white tea are also good because they are rich in epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) a compound that surrounds breast cancer cells and suffocates them by shutting off their blood supply. Try to have at least two cups of tea a day.
You can also up your defenses by eating tuna twice a week. The credit goes to omega-3s, the fatty acids that are also found in salmon, sardines, and other oily fish that force abnormal cells to die before they can divide and spread. Research has shown that eating canned tuna and other healthy food can slash your risk of breast cancer as much as 90%!
Black beans can cut your risk of ever developing breast cancer 24% says Harvard Public Health studies. They are fiber rich, filling and packed with flavonols, the compounds that shield and protect breast genes making them less likely to become damaged when exposed to hormones and other carcinogens. Two cups of black beans a week is the recommended dose. They can easily be substituted for half the ground beef in any recipe.
Reishi mushrooms are so toxic to breast cancer cells they can halve their ability to grow and spread in as little as 24 hours according to recent research. They do have a bitter taste which repels people too, but they can be bought in extract form in most health food stores, called ganoderma. Check with your doctor first before taking.
Consuming beta-sitosterol - an immunity boosting plant compound - daily could double your body's ability to kill off early breast cancer cells. This can be found in avocados, almonds, pecans, pistachios, dark chocolate, red lentils, corn, canola and soybean oils.
Shield your cells with spices! Popular spices like black pepper, turmeric, saffron, oregano, curry and garlic are not only flavor enhancers but also help protect you against cancer. Plant compounds in these spices are proven to nourish all cells, helping them grow and divide normally, even when they are exposed to harsh carcinogens.
